new year

Posted by freebird at 09:05 PM on January 1, 2004.

This is it! its the new year 2004! starting tomorrow i'll be a JC2 student! argh~~~ the stress~~~!!!

but stress is good. it aids in slimming down. yep. okae~ i'm currently studying in victoria junior college, and... tomorrow is the dreaded first day of school!!!

my room is a mess. 3 sets of notes are missing, all my tutorials are messed up, and files are cluttered everywhere. and holiday homework are stuffed in weird places like under the bed and in crevices behind the wardrobe...

i've still got tonnes of homework to do, but i guess it's an impossible case. what's the point of working for another 6 hours into the night if u will end up butchered anyway? which explains why i'm online willing away the time.

good news is, i'm meeting up my friends in school at last and they've not done the bulk of their homework too. =D and also i'm borrowing hunterxhunter from my fren tomorrow. hisoka rox~

bad curry puff?

Posted by freebird at 05:30 PM on January 2, 2004.

hmmmz... i think i just ate a bad curry puff. i THINK. coz it was so hot i couldn't taste anything wrong, although it is past the expiry date. but it smelt so good and i was so ravenous that i couldn't care less. and i would hope to get an upset stomach so i could be exempted from CCA tomorrow...

first day of school, and it was actually fun. what lessons there were were spent chatting with the teachers; and the teachers kind of expected that we would not have brought our assignments to school. heh.

*hungry* bye den!

life

Posted by freebird at 11:00 AM on January 8, 2004.

its been 3 days since i lost my internet connection; it got suspended coz the service din receive our cheque... sux rite? (btw, i'm on the school com now...)

ANIWAE! the past days were pretty slack as it was the Year One Orientation days. Yesterday was the CCA walkabout, our Japanese Club got a lot of new members! YATTA~ and our table tennis recreational too... art club... eh... sad case, but there are more juniors den last year i guess.

good news is, my Dunman High senior opened a DVD-rental shop near my Victoria JC; it seemed really cool to have a shop of your own, selling just the things you like. I would really like to open a comics-rental shop during my half year break, but i guess it is not feasible at all... sad thing is, i can never open such a shop after my official schooling, coz i want to be in the investment analyst proffession... sigh~ the half-year break is still one year away, i guess i'll come up with something to do by then. perhaps i can just buy a PS2 and play for the 6 months... hee.

Auspicious Red

Posted by freebird at 08:06 PM on January 8, 2004.

red is the auspicious colour used for Chinese New Year Deco. And i've got red plastered all over my skirt. while doing and painting the new year decoration stuff, i sat on a palette of red paint... that mean i got red paint splattered all over my butt. Girls, u noe how embarrassing that is right? there's no way i'm ever wearing that skirt again.

And i had to walk the length of the school to borrow a new skirt, with everyone staring at the red "stains". argh~~~! anywae, the red can't be washed away, although we tried soap, alcohol, and den thinner... i had to carry a skirt smelling very strongly of thinner on the bus... wonder if anyone suspected me of smelling thinner or something.

Niwae, we totally wasted an hour washing (or experimenting methods of washing) my skirt, when we should haf been rushing the new year decoration... SORRY, EVERYONE!!!

teacher problems

Posted by freebird at 02:40 PM on January 16, 2004.

unlike what the heading says, its not really the teacher who is troubling me. hmmm... how do i put it?

this year, we changed a new teacher for GP. i liked her the minute she walked into the class, although i dun think she really likes me as much. sigh~ but the thing is, she is quite mean and sarcastic to the class, and really asks a lot out of us, which is very unlike all our previous teachers.

the class people are seeking to petition to have her transferred out of teaching us; and there's juz a small minority of me, my friend, and my other friend, who likes the teacher, as we noe that she CAN really help pull our General Paper standard up to an A.

i dun really mind a change of teachers, as i've always relied more on friends and myself when it comes to schoolwork. However, i juz can't help feeling very mean and ungrateful for juz watching from the stands as she gets petitioned away.

but the classes i'm in have alwaes had a history of petitioning against teachers. there was that teacher that couldn't get her facts straight and had a very small voice; pity her, she was a new teacher, and she really tried very hard, making new presentations and giving notes. but it was a very important chapter and we couldn't afford to get messed up notes. hope it din dash her hopes and aspirations... den there was that teacher who is a complete slacker! she din even return us all those assignments she had us do! and she's always late for lessons! she was a friendly and jovial person, but, we just couldn't stand her slackness.

but this time, it's just wrong. the teacher was mean, but she was very able, and had very sound tips and so on. well, i wasn't picked on yet, so i guess i hadn't been hurt by her bluntness, but, she would do a good job for us. we're just getting rid of her coz we din like her for her sarcasm.

sigh~ everything will work out in the end i guess. but i'm sure i would not sign the petition.

good looks

Posted by freebird at 09:45 PM on January 17, 2004.

i'm a sucker for good looks. my belief is that, good-looking people are blessed, and they deserve our admiration, even though some of them are plain assholes. but, good looks is an excuse for most little wrong-doings!

it's been a rather nice day; saw a larger number of good-looking people (guys and gals, and, no, i'm not a homosexual) then normal. doesn't it make u feel good to noe that these people are out there walking amongst u? my day is brightened! :D :D (i've been dubbed by my friends as a hua-chi, but i beg to differ. hua-chi is a person who likes a lot of guys. i'm a person who is made happy just by interacting with a good-looker. crushing is not a necessity. ... mebe i AM a hua-chi... =P)

but, i am in no means discriminating against plain-looking people. i myself is a plain jane. but that is precisely why i admire these people for wat they are. yada yada...

niwae, this entry is crap. ignore it... hahaz

scaling new heights

Posted by freebird at 07:39 PM on January 19, 2004.

i grew!!! i grew taller by 1.7cm and finally shed that 1kg!!! wee~ (height-and-weight taking todae)

i'd long suspected that i had grown taller since i returned to school this year. Clue: i can touch the top of the whiteboard when wiping it last week!!! i used to not wish to go to the front to wipe the board as it was embarrassing. i would have to jump and crane all over just to reach the higher parts of the board. and i could never write at the top of the board. all these had passed at last! i'd grown taller!!!

most people would never be able to guess what being short feels like. it really sucks to walk by a piece of glass wall and realize that you are a head and a shoulder shorter than the people walking with you. and also to keep being mistaken as a mature lower secondary student. and also having to maintain a lower weight than average people. And being unable to reach the middle ends of the table tennis table when playing ping pong and always being towered over by others when playing captain ball... *sob* sigh~ my sad past...

anyway, i have grown taller by 1.7cm from my previous 152.3cm! oh, i hope the person did not "see wrongly" or anything. i still can't really bring myself to believe that i had grown, especially after a growth hiatus of 5 years. To start growing again at age 17!!! *start getting elated again*

i hope i had miraculously reached the age to start shooting, although it is 3 years later than most people. =D

Conjunctivitis

Posted by freebird at 09:12 AM on January 30, 2004.

YAY! i got serious conjunctivitis! my left eye's all red and watery and half its original size! that's so cool! no... that sounded quite wrong.

YAY! i got off school today coz of serious conjunctivitis! that means i got away with 5 periods of tutorials and double physics lecture! and i also haf time to go online to blog, read online manga, and practice the damned piano! whee~~~ aren't i lucky?

i went to school in the morning intending to get an excuse slip and go back home. in that way, i hoped that a doctor's MC would not be required. SAD. miscalculation... i had to get an MC anyway. that's 20 bucks down the drain. i shouldn't haf spent that 90cents on the bus journey to and from school in that case and juz caught up on my sleep. sigh~ a bit of financial losses there.

but... hey! no school! that makes 4 days of no-school, coz monday is the post-hari raya puasa holiday too!

oh, and juz another bit of information about my well-being since we're on the topic of physical health here. i got this really cool looking gash on my right wrist! no, i did not cut my wrist... i BURNT it! kewl!

that day i was taking this hot bucket-like tin out of the bread maker machine to extract the bread. niwae, i forgot that it had a thin metallic handle. so when i moved the tin, the handle fell against my wrist. but i can't remove it immediately with my left hand coz my left hand is unprotected! we only haf one kitchen glove! so i had to continue getting scorched until i can find a safe place where i can put down the tin.

in short, the handle burnt a pretty deep wound in my wrist, but coz it was a burn, there was no bleeding, and only this cool gash there. it's the first time i got burnt, the wound stung for the next 2 days.

be careful of hot objects.
