i'm broke.

Posted by freebird at 12:37 PM on December 2, 2004.

i'm a cancerian, my place is in the home.

at long last, i'm holed in my home, happily drawing, colouring, reading and reading and reading... actually ning and co. are watching incredibles, but i'm so totallly broke after paying for the dvds in cash and donating to the stupid nkf card thing i'm broke. really. not a single note in my wallet, and my dad's overseas so i can't get my december pocket money from him. and i'm too thick skinned to ask my mom for cash. so i'm holing at home, doing all the stuff that i'm supposed to do.

will clean up my room AFTER i get back from m'sia tho. if i do it now, i'll just burn all the stuff i'm supposed to pass to me juniors.

but there really IS tonnes of stuff to do, and its only the first week of post-a-levels too. all artsy stuff. animation, webcomics, colouring RO... i'm so tired...

a wedding

Posted by freebird at 04:59 PM on December 4, 2004.

ahaha, not really. more like tea ceremonies and church solemnization. well, my cousin's marrying his bride (BEAUTIFUL, and i mean it!) today, and we family members just swarmed over to join in the fun.
it was considerably low-key, the tea-ceremony and all. half the extended family's overseas, and that basically just left me and my other cousin to flitter around, joking with my very nervous aunt and extremely sleepy best-man cousin.
my impression of weddings had always been that it was very proper and everything just goes well without any hiccups ever. well, i guess that was just coz in the many weddings i'd attended before, i'd never really been behind the curtains. it was... heh. fun. fun and chaotic. *trademark evil grin*
ah well, extremely tired. thank goodness i don't need to turn up for the dinner tmr night, i don't think i can take another more day of this.
and i tell you, the church HATES me. just sitting in it for an hour gave me cramps all over my body, a major headache and sores in my mouth (coz i was biting on my inner lips in a bid not to giggle)
...all said and done, it was tiring but extremely fun. yepz. but never again, at least not for the next six months, after which its my other cousin's turn to queue up at the ROM. all the best then!
oh, and did i mention the bride and groom were really good-looking? as in, they really shone. *mind turns to stone. going to sleep*

summary

Posted by freebird at 11:03 PM on December 16, 2004.

here's the summary i owed u guys:

6th dec: went shopping for eat-on-the-bus snacks with hl, den went her house to stay the night. got a job offer. woke up the next day with the overhanging feeling of habing my hair tugged throughout the night. maybe i'm just oversensitive.

7th dec: went golden mile to take the bus. the snacks went uneaten (they're now stacked up in my kitchen, i've got a sore throat so i can't eat them now. grrr) i love sour cream pringles. slept all the way.

den we went to Times Square where there's an indoor amusement park. RM25 for all the rides! cool! sat on one that twirls us around, one that twirls us around AND rotates, and the DNA MIXER. basically it rotates around and around, with many times where u just hang on for dear life as it hangs inverted. yy turned green. she refused to sit any more, and we all went off to the roller coaster. really, after that dna mixer, everything seemed mild.

den went around to shop. all the gals bought bags and hair accessories, and the guys bought clothes AND bags too. den decided to try to avoid the traffic jam by not hanging around too late, so we went off to cold storage to buy bread and ham and diy campbells for dinner take-away.

den we played mahjong till 2am.

8th dec: hl woke up sick from playing too late. gals went to play squash and gym and table tennis. swimming pool is under renovation, boo. den woke the guys up to go shopping at KLCC.

KLCC is... like orchard road, taka. chock full of expensive branded stuff. can't breathe; can't buy; dun dare to touch. so we convinced the guys to take a taxi down to times square again. its... really squeezy inside the taxi, now i truly appreciate the merc my dad drives. four people in the backseat, even with super thin pple like thong and yy is HELL on earth. bought clothes.

den went chinatown at night to buy stuff and bargain. jr rox at that, while we gals just got ripped off. sighz. really! bargained really hard to get the price down by 50 sens, den went to a shop and found it selling rm3 cheaper! grrrr!

played mahjong till 5.30am. hl conked out at 1. tk conked out at 3. ...wait. we got play 3-sided mahjong that long mehz?

oh! and we forgot to pay for our dinner! coz we were in such a hurry to rush off to chinatown and we thought each other had paid. it was really funny when we realized it halfway out of the complex. still owe them rm30.

niwae, on to...

9th dec: woke everyone up at 8.30, went down to take the bus back to sg. waved bye bye as the bus rumbled off. den went to meet my gram and aunt who came down from penang to kl, and we all took a car and cable car up to genting. slept the whole afternoon, evening and night. plain exhausted.

10th dec: went back to kl from genting. returned to my dad's apartment; its.. filthy. untenanted for like 2 months, and i feel like its unhabitable... rust in the water, layers of dust on the floor, and no bed sheets; we had to sleep on dusty sofas and cushions. spent lots time cleaning up and maintaining the room apartment.

11th dec: followed my da through small towns to look up some customers. highlight was the hot spring we went to along the way. didn't go into the water; signed up for a foot massage instead. OWIE. returned to sg that day instead of staying the night. eh. i forgot wat was so impt liao.

yarlor, den up till now its cosplay, costumes, pricking myself with the needle, handsewing and late nights

and i'm sick with a horrid sore throat, and as all who saw me can hear, i lost my voice again.

going m'sia tmr till god knows when. man, life wasn't this hectic and stressful during the A levels or prelims lar! wishing for job to start so i can get a routine life and not have so many different commitments.

bored

Posted by freebird at 10:54 PM on December 29, 2004.

ya, so i went off to m'sia leaving all my beloved buddies in sg and scratching at the doormat on the... 17th izzit?

went off to kl, to clean up my dad's apartment and chiong thong's costume.

den went off to kedah to chiong thong's costume for a day and... the nightmare begins.

after mailing off the costume, i had absolutely NOTHING to do! there was that one short trip to penang where half the time was spent in the car and the other half spent walking along streets and eating; zero shopping and fun.

den there was that one other day when we went off to the shopping centre, and my parents vetoed every single thing i wanted to buy save for a wallet and a blouse.

and the rest of the days were spent in the house; there's a grocery shop opposite but we couldn't walk across the road without getting run over. and there's this manga shop we drove past every morning when we go for breakfast, but i can't go there! and there's no books to read safe for thirty year old magazines that my aunt gave my mum and she left at the house when she just married my dad. and i can't use the computer coz there's something wrong with the.. ummm... boot record disk?

really, i was going into hysterics. what was totally horrifying is that on one of the trips tears actually started rolling down my cheeks. sigh, i think my brain got a bit unwired during that period of time. sobz. feeling sorry for myself.

this blog is starting to sound a bit un-xueqi-like neh.

on another note, the dog bit my mum by mistake when playing and we had to rush to look for a clinic that's open. finally found one, and she got two stitches.

and lastly, about the tsunami; its the first time i ever felt so close to a disaster area. kedah was hit too, so we were like phoning friends to see if they were at sea then. plus the fact that we went down there two days before the disaster struck. the bang zheng kuei there is the best i've ever eaten, i hope the vendor is alrite.

sian liaoz...................sigh
