winnar~

Posted by freebird at 11:13 AM on September 1, 2005.

yay~ i'm skipping a lecture right now.

i played volleyball for the first time ever yesterday night, and believe it or not, we won~~~ yay~~~ it feels so GOOD to win; our block's been on a losing streak since... the start. beh. but apparently, winners don't get extra points (huh?) but only a medal, which is different from what the notice promised. bweh. but who cares? we won~ yay~

and i woke up this morning aching like i'd ran a 12km marathon, and i wonder why. its as illogical as someone spraining her ankle during a dragon boat race, or pulling a neck muscle during a game of darts.

anyway, i'm pretty much too sian to climb up to my lecture hall right now, besides i have 2 tests (5% of entire semester's grade) and a japanese mock test coming up next week; i'm attempting to mug. although as you can see i'm being totally undisciplined again and trying to revive my neglected blog.

actually i'm taking a break from mugging as i kinda need the toilet bad, but the aunties are deciding to clean up the place now (since everyone else are in lessons) so i'm just.. hanging around... doing random stuff on the com... ...you didn't need to noe that. darn.

P.S. everytime i start getting sianz of mugging i just look up and stare at my chibi gallery mini collection. waiiiii~~~

a life full of luck

Posted by freebird at 12:37 PM on September 2, 2005.

i walked into my tutorial at 8.30am, cold, wet, hungry, sleepy and sniffling.

there was Boggle and Scrabble training last night, which was teaching us the techniques of forming long words, and giving us a list of 2 and 3 letter words to memorise. After that i was supposed to go home to mug for my two tests and do my statistics tutorial.

Ended up playing mahjong and making $2.60. and i returned to my room half-drowsy, finished half the tutorial, and passed out on the bed, setting my alarm at 6.30am, so i may wake up earlier to do my tutorials.

in the end i woke up at 6.30am to switch off the alarm... and jerked up at 8am to hurriedly pack my stuff and run off to lessons. and it bloody RAINED 2 minutes after i stepped out of the hall, so i had to put up my umbrella... which had multiple holes in it, so i had rain falling on my head and blowing in from all directions anyway. (it stopped raining when i reached my class. tch.)

and i screwed up my presentation with the wadaya call it P(X|A), coz i was basically half asleep and reading from right to left, so i was going Probability of A given X, and confusing the entire class. Thankfully, the later answers of the study we were presenting were 'questionable' as well.

somehow the probabilities didn't add up to 1 as they should, and when the tutor asked, we realized that, hey? we had the same logic, same steps, and it was the question that didn't make sense at all. so basically the whole point of my screwing up my presentation got forgotten with our fervent defense, and he later commented that our group's presentation deserved an 'A'. only this presentation was a trial run so it wasn't graded. wahaha.

and when going through the tutorial, he ran out of questions just when it was reaching my turn. hehz. second week i escaped answering. i'd better buck up and finish  my tutorials next week.

and now i'd better start on mugging le.

Current list of responsibilities and tests:

Hall Committee Recreational Games Subcommittee (20 points)

Hall Committee Publications Xubcommittee (10* points)

Hall Production backstage crew (10 points)

SIGGRAPH external events organizing subcommittee (7.2* points)

Interhall Boggle, Scrabble and Weiqi training (Max 30 points)

Finance Quiz (2.5%) (4 days time)

Accountancy Quiz (5%) (3 days time)

Japanese Elementary Level 2 Quiz (next next week; mock 2 days later)

Driving Exam (next next week)

Status Report

0.5 / 10 for accountancy quiz. which amounts to... accumulating my 0.25% score for my semester's grade. yay.

note to self: if studying past 2am and feeling very very drowsy, do not wake up at 6am to continue studying as it is highly inefficient (efficiency factor of 0). instead, just catch up on sleep, cross your fingers, and you might just get a better score.

second note to self: if you have a second test the next day and a driving lesson slot 2 hours before the test, located at polar ends of the island, do take heed of note 1 and make a prayer before going to bed. sleep is important.

third and last note to self: if you really intend to not do all of the above, do at least try to be productive and not waste precious minutes typing away at the computer.

aims: at least 50% tomorrow~~~!!!

its friday

Posted by freebird at 06:08 PM on September 16, 2005.

well, wat do you know, its friday~ and its a wasted day again -__-

had to wait half hour to get my driving license done, den another half hour for the bus to come, and i woke up late too.... and my textbooks and assignments are still sitting quietly untouched in a corner.

*grouch* i feel like taking a holiday off and going somewhere. batam? (irony: it's the last day of the holiday today)

but at the very least... i got my driving license~~~! second time pass! i would have failed myself if i were the examiner lorz... i thought i rumbled through when the light was still red, plus i almost knocked this stupid motorcyclist that appeared out of no where down. (thank goodness for my fast reflexes; i just gave him a bit of space for him to speed past, den returned to my lane)

the super nice examiner said i was pretty good and confident on the road (i wonder why) and he didn't say anything else except comment "But you strike kerb at the beginning... how come har?" who am i to complain? now i'm on a one year probation, where i'll just be waiting for my father to change his old car in for an auto one.

and and... Advent Children's been out for some time le! went over to px's house to watch on the 14th! i'm so gonna buy it, although it really wasn't all that good; there were some parts i would have done differently, but its all totally worth it for all the motorbike and fight scenes. *ahhh~ i feel like punching someone right now* *pants and stops for breath*

sigh, i'm gonna have to do my project again. i wanna meet up for midautumn celebrations on sat! mooncakes! ps2! ac! pizza! durians! cake! fizzers! scrabble! chocolates! bweh!

regret sia

Posted by freebird at 01:33 PM on September 19, 2005.

my textbooks and stuff are STILL sitting quietly and untouched in one corner.

anyway, eh, i signed up for Hall Production, its a play by our hostel held in Jubilee Hall, Raffles Hotel, coming friday and saturday. basically i'm a backstage crew moving props and stuff.

and i really didn't count on there being rehearsals like everyday for the week before the big two days. (i should haf, but its been 3 weeks since they started, i thought they'd forgotten about us le, and i forgot about them as well.) until saturday night, they whoa sms-ed me to inform of a full dress rehearsal the next afternoon.

and there's still tickets to sell... like... how to sell? i'm not performing leh! anyway, although i think the show IS worth the money, (its really good!) i still feel bad trying to sell things to my friends leh.

-guilt-

and i stupidly signed up for another event organizing, which is tonight, tomorrow night, and wednesday night (venue rehearsal night) and i'm feeling so dead and drained as of now.

and of course my textbooks and stuff are still sitting quietly and untouched in one corner, and they must have understood how they're never gonna get touched for the rest of their lifes, coz they've quietly and graciously accepted their fate and started dutifully collecting dust.

i'm a bad owner.

(coda) ...and... RaWRGHzzzzz!!!! *jumps off a cliff and lands on the jagged rocks beneath* i hates myself i hates myself i hates myself i hates myself... (something happened which i dun feel like saying)... (D.C. coda)

home

Posted by freebird at 11:38 AM on September 21, 2005.

eh-heh. i'm at home getting my Advent Children onto cds now.

somehow it feels shooo nice and relaxed here, just me and my computer... rushing back to hall later for the event organizing.

lets see... for those (namely risu-chan) who's worried about the previous post.. nah, everything worked out fine larz~ coz basically on mon i reallly really realy wanted to go out on tues, but i couldn't, coz of my bloody commitments. but on monday night, my event organizers decided we all did good, and gave us a day off on tues; and the hall director said 'no rehearsal' coz its the mid autumn festival; and my SIGGRAPH head found someone else to go to the convention, so i became free to go~! (wow, all 3 priority events got cancelled within the same hour)

yep! so basically i had a lot of fun last night, ended up at PS at 11.30pm, and decided to just heck it and take a taxi back to tampines since i had no lessons today morning.

that's all~

tired after hall production

Posted by freebird at 01:10 AM on September 24, 2005.

tired. today was the first day for the hall production. hmmmz, we screwed up. bad.

basically, there's this scene ya, where we have to move tonnes of stuff onstage to enact a bbq scene. i'm to carry 2 chairs and 2 glasses, my roomie one big bench and tumbler, and the other guy a big table with plates and paper cups.

so... when its our turn to go out, the props in charge mixed up the cue, so we were late in going out. then while we were hurrying, the lights suddenly came on. we just chucked everything quickly and disappeared just when they turned the lights off again. mayhem. and the lights stayed off for the next full minute.

so when the scene started all over again, the glass i left on the ground (one of us 3 was sup to put it on the table) got smashed. its like... major oopsie. den, the lights din go completely out at the next scene, so had to remove the props in semi light. eeep.

now, pooped, and ready to sleep before one. yay~ early night! early night! late morning! *chants*

this is what happened with my planned schedule early morning today:

23 Sep:

to reach hall at 12mn (actually reached 12.30)

do laundry at 12.30 (did at 1)

do tutorial n finance project at 1, to end at 3 (in actuality, had to do marketing and finance, and got stuck in the tutorial. slept at 5.30am, with my tutorial half-complete)

at 0430, i had decided to just pia through the night without sleep.

at 0530, i gave in and decided i should nap an hour, den cont with tutorial at 7am.

thus my plans for the following morning is:

0700 wake up and do tut

0810 drop performance tix off fren'z mailbox

0815 walk out to class

0830 tutorial

1030 go for marketing project meeting

1145 leave meeting for hall

1200 return to hall to take lorry down to rehearsal

in actuality... i woke up at 11am feeling very confused as to why my alarm clock's button was switched off. figure the rest out yourself. rawgh. ( i managed to make it for 0.5hour of project meeting tho. ran alot.)

ya~ bye bye PX

Posted by freebird at 12:03 AM on September 26, 2005.

ya~ px went off le... got up at 5 something to see px off at the airport; my father just had to drive me there although there was a direct bus. its such a bloody waste of fuel!!! but i guess they miss me ba.

i've been trying, and wanting to spend more time with them. like on sat, i went out of my way to meet them out for lunch, and so on. but my schedule really IS pretty tight. and a lot of times i get so uncomfy with their over concern that i just scream at them, which really isn't very nice huh.

will miss px. sigh~ even tho its not like we often keep in contact, but, still, it feels different without her around... i think she should have reached UK by now le ba. just in time for autumn huh.

but nevermind, at least there's still MSN. all the best px~~~

and on wed its ning's turn to go le; there's a subcom meeting though, i hope i can skip that and go on my way to Changi Airport. weh~ suddenly feel like i din really treasure my frenz (and cousin too; miss her too, uuu) when they are still around lehz.

can't be bothered

Posted by freebird at 01:00 AM on September 29, 2005.

and there goes ning to the UK as well.  jia too, to cambridge for some really cheem studies, haha. will try to work and save up for an airticket to London some time next next year ba.

chiong-ing my marketing project. we've got really ambitious plans, lots of gimmicky stuff that we don't really need, and if we succeed it'll be a really 'whoo' project. i'm getting rather hyped up about this actually; the bulk of the design of the product, posters, adverts would be headed by me. yay~

marketing is so much fun; i just wish i could take it as a double specialization. but i want to take econs and finance as well, and that's already on the assumption that i qualify for double specialization.

exams are in 5 weeks' time. i hafn't done a thing about... anything at all.

a bit stressed coz the two most important project presentations of my semester are falling on the same morning, 2 weeks before my first day of exam; i really shouldn't be taking this well hmmm. but stoned out le. more interested about... friendly scrabble match tmr with Hall 15, and how i can't join the table tennis hall team coz i can't fit it into my schedule. weh.
