kuro-san

Posted by freebird at 02:56 PM on February 9, 2006.

yo~ i'm now with the new member of my family, kuro! i met him on saturday morning; and after one day, we're happily married now and living together. well, the first day he moved in, he didn't really like the messiness of my room and gave me a lot of flake. he refused to detect my mouse, his front usb ports refused to work. but, nah, now that he has assimilated into the environment, we're getting along fine. (shawn came by to give him a prep talk on monday)

so now i owe konno and risu lunch for the intro! i insist!

yay~ adobe photoshop! yay~ flash! yay~ office! yay~ i can read japanese characters! yay~

2nd Gold

Posted by freebird at 11:40 PM on February 9, 2006.

hmm... that felt good. we won 3-0 all the way to the finals. we were bloody lucky we got the longer end of the stick all the way. basically, there were a few super strong schools, many with our hall players in them. and very luckily we ended up in a weak group, so we breezed through the prelims while lest and the others masaccred each other.

Lest's team killed the strongest player in school for us. and we'd expected to meet Lest &Co. today... we were making all sorts of plans and strategies against them coz they were bloody strong... only they never reached us. He IDIOTICALLY lost his match and got kicked out of the finals. really IDIOTICALLY. hymph. IDIOT. baka baka baka baka (kuro says: "ok la, he's devastated already le. give him some slack la.")

so we breezed on through and through. receiving medal tomorrow. yay~

and tmr i shall be getting my arse kicked during boggle. and Lest will have his day. bweh.

argh. we lost boggle. *screams what am i doing?!*

ah~~~~!!! i wanted to play lester! i wanted to play jason! the main reason i joined was because i wanted to play them in an official match! *pouts pouts pouts pouts pouts pouts pouts*

hmmm... in the semis, one of the mainplayers couldn't make it (why does this remind me of how we lost our inter-hall boggle?) so we had a reserve in instead. so we're weak. bweh.

our captain (hall 3 captain) fought the Engineering captain (hall 15 captain: average of 100 per set. my average is 70)... and lost. den the reserve lost to jason in the second table. we're both lamenting that we ended in the wrong tables. and i went against the hall 2 captain. lost to her by 20 points? overall we lost 3-0.

*starts screaming what am i doing again*

at the end of the day, everyone has one medal from the interschool. haha. will try again next year! grrr!

I'm happy. Actually I'm so happy that I'm really really scared about it. Too scared to even put it down to words, so ah well. It'll just be my little secret. Gomene.

v-day

Posted by freebird at 01:23 AM on February 15, 2006.

yo~ so i'm attached now le! i suspect there's some miscommunication somewhere, but what matters is the end results, so haha. let's just see how things work out ba.

i really really really like him. *smilez* i din even realize i like lest so much until just recently. actually lately i'd been caught in some romantic tangles... someone had been woo-ing me for a while, and i decided to give him the go-ahead just a few days ago. ironically, its only after i agreed to be his gf that i realized my true feelings. so we sorted everything out the next time we met, and just in time too, coz lest suddenly asked for a date for today. (didn't dare to tell about it yesterday as it still felt too surreal then.)

basically all i got out of him was that its some steakhouse near the Durian, and i just panicked the whole of last night, piecing together something to wear. And jason and zx came by upon hearing the news to browse thru Her World magazines and give advice on clothes...

i can't believe i believed them and went around looking for skirts and bleargh the whole of today. (nope, i still get goosebumps looking at myself in skirts, so the wardrobe is still devoid of them now)

in the end its still turtleneck and pants. and omg he looked good. (sorry, i just had to say that) ah, where was i again?

drove for 2 hours to get there coz we got stuck in a jam. no wait, or was tat jamS? after work traffic really sucks big time. but we had time to talk, so i'm pretty cool :)

shan't elaborate more le la, just that... it was a super expensive dinner... the restaurants really know how to do their milking on festive seasons... basically all the proportions were downsized by half and served as a 'couple-special', and the price was hiked up by double.
-___-

and now there's a new soft toy sitting on the table... dare not hug as i'm afraid of spoiling it... shed a few tufts of hair le, ooopz.

Recess Week-Cleaning

Posted by freebird at 04:39 PM on February 17, 2006.

The following week is the one-week holidays at last! Recess Week!

Feeling inspired, i finally forced myself to come to terms with myself and my room... and decided to tidy up as part of my determination to work hard for this semester.

Basically, years and years ago (actually just last july), when i moved into hall, i brought along a soya sauce bottle, to go with my daily half-boiled eggs. den this and that happened... i had no time in the mornings, the NKF health screening people asked to cut my consumption of eggs... basically i stopped buying eggs, and the soya sauce became forgotten on the shelf.

And somehow, the soya sauce bottle, being left unattended to, and feeling attention-seeking, decided to leak. and leak. and i have no idea for how long it leaked, coz last last last last last... week when i noticed, it had furry furry mould growing around it. of course i threw it away. and the shelf remained empty for the longest amount of time.

today i finally summoned the courage to clean up that mess of mouldy residue. yy, i really really hope you are NOT reading this, and i really really hope you'll NEVER find out about this... but if you did.... i'm sorry!!! i'm sorry!!! i'm sorry!!! but there's really not much damage done, really! just... mould. and dust. and its all spick and span now! good as new!

ah~ now that confession's over with, let's get on with the rest of the spring-cleaning effort. basically, the kuro-san moved from the right to the left, scanner-san is sitting on a box beside the table, and printer-kun moved from the left to the right. and the desk is now devoid of random pieces of paper flying around.

the desk is neater now. but it still looks messy, somehow. i guess i just do not have yy's knack of putting things in the right place, and out of sight. sigh~

I Not Stupid Too

Posted by freebird at 01:01 AM on February 20, 2006.

...is a fantastic show. Really fantastic.

Well, normally i rate any show that manages to drive me to tears as fantastic, but whoo... this goes beyond that, man. its great, its great, watch it!!!

first up, its really funny. and not stupid funny like some shows i refuse to mention, but quirky, and sometimes darkly humourous as well. two thumbs up.

and its really touching!!! it delved into some issues that feels super real, and u can just feel the hopelessness of the situation as one thing just escalates into another. u can FEEL it, man...

some of the jokes were pretty lame, and the outcomes super idealized, but that's tolerable. i guess it just wun be jack neo if its some sombre tear-jerker with a sad ending.

all through the show i was thinking to myself: "no way in hell i'm gonna grow up to be a parent like that" and also reflecting on my own parents. and i realized, what the hell, my parents were angels sent from heaven above. ...do parents like those shown in the movie really exist? it looked credible on the big screen, but it actually felt rather blown-up and melodramatic now that i think about it. hopefully these parents are few and far between ba.

no way in hell i'm gonna grow up to be a parent like that.

and... i'm slacking away here as there's some really really malicious stuff on my com and i'm sitting my butt here till i get this sorted out. grrr.

Productivity - Or not

Posted by freebird at 02:21 AM on February 23, 2006.

Up to today, i'd successfully studied 2 chapters of IT!!! and its staying in my brain!!! yay~ (1 chapter a day; for a non-pre-exam-last-min-mugging revision rate, its really very good progress)

And today I finally went ahead to lock myself up in front of the computer until i churned out the logoes and posters i'm supposed to have done weeks ago. omg... photoshop is really taxing on the brain... totally died and conked out after that. *dies on the bed*

and after that was the siggraph meeting for imagereel; it was sup to be only half an hour, but it somehow dragged and dragged, and before you know it, its almost 2 hours. and i rushed off to join yy and co. at  the sports and recre centre to play badminton.

had expected the meeting to end at most half an hour earlier... in the end  i could only play for...10, 15 minutes? lolz, i think i spent more time making my way across the campus and changing into my shorts den playing badminton. but jason is a bloody good player. bweh.

and after we got back to hall, went by the study room to find lest... but he wasn't there. hung around in the room a while, and he suddenly decided to go out for a stroll and off i went. :)

ended up walking for around 1.5hours; to the sports centre, and to nanyang lake, and to yunnan gardens, and to the supper place, and another big round loop back to hall.

and on the way back, we were talking about animals, and lo and behold, this big brown-striped cat was lying across our path. we didn't do anything to it. we didn't even miaow at it. but somehow it just decided to come after us, and walked beside and in front of us, leading the way all the time. it was quite strange now that you think about it. when we stopped, it would stop a distance ahead and look reproachfully back at us. when we walked faster, it would overtake us... and it liked lest. (all the cats hate me) in the end it just stopped at the edge of hall 15 and ignored us after we made no moves on it for the entire way. up till now, i still don't understand what it wanted.

anyway~ sigh~ the holidays are almost over now~ and... the holiday homeworks are all not done! i really have zero idea on how to even start to go about doing them; its all some very weird assignments. really need help with my Microsoft Access and Business Law homework...

for the last time

Posted by freebird at 07:01 PM on February 26, 2006.

i think this is the last time i'll be posting this message, so please bear with me. we got GOLD for scrabble again! international games! singapore vs. indonesia vs. malaysia vs. ... ... (its all within ntu) so its 3 gold medals!

damn! almost strangled our captain to death. he insisted on only having our hall players in the team even though we are representing the entire singaporean scrabble players in ntu. there are much stronger players out there. but whew, we won.

it was a close shave with death... basically, the organization of the event is screwed. while every other competition abides by the international scrabble competition rules, somehow someone came up with these weird rules for this tournament. like... if your word is challenged and you take it back, you miss the next turn and the likes. we were all screaming bloody murder. we gradually got them to change the rules that didn't make sense, and in the end it all just got so confusing we just hecked it and played our own sweet games by our own sweet rules.

won vietnam 4-0. and we were supposed to go on to play indonesia, but the organizers were taking such a long time organizing everyy match, somehow the captains go together, and decided to bypass the group match between indo and sg and enter the semis directly.

we decided the better of the two teams by our spread in the game against vietnam. darn. we might have won and gone on to take the weaker of the survivor from group A if we had known this beforehand, coz we didn't really go all out to masaccre the vietnamese team. awww darn.

so we went against malaysia, which was rather strong. but zx said, our aim is the gold, if we can't even defeat m'sia, we wouldn't have a shot at that anyway. good words neh. we won 3-1~

den for the finals we were up against indonesia. brrrr. indo is scary; mostly hall players. this time round i changed partners to pair with lest. partly coz his best friend is our opponent, and partly coz we wanted to play together. i almost lost the game. thank goodness he saved it... *cries*

thank goodness he saved it... *cries* thank goodness he....

our match was the deciding match. thank goodness he saved it...

yay~ 3 gold medals now~

and 3 assignments; 2 due tmr morn 8.30am, 1 due 2pm, and they ar still largely untouched. and nope, i don't have time to do them. burning the midnight oil tonight again... boohooo

sick again

Posted by freebird at 10:25 PM on February 27, 2006.

rawrgh~~~~~ i'm sick again!

i know i was sick and dying a few days ago, but i was recovering! den i just caught a cold all over again. perhaps one reason was that i stayed up to 5am last night to chiong my biz law assignment (it was a piece of crap) and woke up early today to chiong my biz law tut (did the wrong tut as i forgot we were one week behind). so i was woozy throughout the day.

so i decided to skip my biz law lecture and go back to hall to sleep coz i was recovering fine, and i wanna get better, see? (there goes my new year resolution)

and it was so bloody hot when i was attempting to sleep!!! so i just kicked the blankets off and what do you know, it rained really heavily and i woke up with a seriously running nose. and till i'd been using up tissues by the packets. i feel sorry for all the trees!!!

woozy.... sleepy... dying with microsoft access... heck! *goes off for her daily night walk*
