last saturday we went to my tutor's place for a BBQ. his parents-in-law came to help out, and his two kids were there. the food was good. and he had to leave midway for someone's wake, and he left us to our own vices in his house with his kids and maid, giving us leeway to get softdrinks from the fridge and wine from the cellar fridge.

we raided his fridge of the kids' yakult, and tried to extort his password from his son. then we played chapteh and badminton on the road, and kid's monopoly and rabbits.

i just finished my project work today. and exam starts in less then a week's time. haven't studied at all.

went to a friend's hall for project meeting, we met from 12mn to 4am. and the next day too. she had a big blue exercise ball which we played with the whole time. i was able to sit on it for 13s.

met nana at the canteen, and she had project work as well. it seems her project deadline was after her first paper. the school exam schedule sux.

i've been waking up at 10am lately. and i'm getting hooked on tenjo tenge again. its a reread. i really should start studying. but i really feel that i am someone that enjoys life; and i don't regret reading manga one bit.

my parents are probably touring angkor wat right now. darn i want to go too.

i lost my access card. without that i can't enter my hall. right now i'm using les' card, but i guess i should go report the loss soon.

for some reason neopets games can't be loaded for the past 3 days. i suddenly have a lot of free time on my hands. i'm only 20,000np from my first million. i'm starting to think its an ntu conspiracy to block flash games during the exam period. 

i don't want to start studying...

should i write on a piece of paper, "i should study for my exams. i should study for my exams. i should study for my exams." a hundred times?

my first paper is in 2 days. somehow i still don't have that sense of urgency yet. gawd what's wrong with me. 

this black insect that looked like a mosquito and fly landed in the shadows of my page. i gave it an interested glance, and moved the shadow and it followed after daintily - backwards. surprised, i took a second look to see if what i thought was the head was actually the behind.

and it moved forwards, and sideways, and backwards, and around my papers in an arc, without changing the orientation of its body.

and then it walked off the edge of the paper and disappeared under the shadows. 

spooked, i turned around to yy and said 'there's this insect that can move forwards and backwards and sideways.' and she said 'har?!'

and we went back to studying coz there's less than 11 hours to my paper, and the oddity is still somewhere among my notes.

on a sidenote, my desk looks like disaster zone, and is garnering interested and disgusted stares from passerbys. >_< 

there was a simple narrative from a boy about the place and a girl.

and i stepped into the world, as the narrative fell away like the last silvery notes from a song, and it sudenly burst out in wonder and colour. it was a crisp morning, with the sun shining lazily through a light mist that hung around above the ground. sakura trees in bloom dyed the mist a gentle pink lined with the gold from the sun.

the path was - was- bricked with stone tiles, but had since been overgrown with pockets of plump blades of newly-green grass sparkling with dew. i couldn't resist breaking into a canter, my heart filling with a voiceless glee. across the short stretch of grassy stone, taking care not to step into the crevices of water, over a short stone bridge under which a cool stream flowed, and my feet hit stone and grass again. and as i ran, the path erroded into grass and puddles before i came to a mound of sand-coloured steps. to say it was stairs would be a wrong description, for every step was but 3cm out, and 1cm high, and i could run on them like normal ground. some huge crannies and segments had been dug by time, and these holes were filled with water, which splashed large, gold-rimmed droplets when a foot is crashed into them.

as i stumbled, i grabbed onto the boy's hand, and together we ran up the 'stairs', both grasped in the wonder of this place. the 'stairs' went upward, and rounded; we went across a narrow arch, and now instead of a huge mound of 'stairs', they were just a flight of the same short steps flanked by a cobbled wall, the other side falling into air, with lush green cushiony grass below. midway up the stairs led off into a doorway arched by cream-white walls and a teal-green roof. we stepped off the stairs and through the door, and it was immediately cooler. it was a resting place, with a small chinese garden and stout wooden tables and chairs...

and i woke up, desperately trying to hold onto the images from the dream. i ran it by again and again in my head ten times, trying to imprint it into my memory. i considered drawing it out, but i'm not a good artist, and actually, i realized that if i try to draw something from memory, the image gets lost faster. as i concentrate on a detail, and try to remember what it was like, the rest of the picture flows away like sand, and the initial detail i was looking for comes back hazy as well. so i got up, nevermind that it was 4am, and tried to pen it out. it was a really good place, and i wish i could convey it across better. it really really changes one's perspective of dream-place and beauty.

the closest parallel to the overall feeling that i could draw to was the art of makoto shinkai, and the magic of Aqua and Aria. the latter of which, i think Aria was made into an anime, (...finishes watching the first episode) but you should just read the manga. the anime degrades it. read it~ if you can't get your hands on it, i'll send it over to you on msn~!
