i almost died at work today. i was really THERE, peering over the edge and staring death in the mouth, and the world was falling to pieces all around me, and there was this big black chasm forming and white specks at the edges.

what happened was that little old me neglected to do the printing out of all my work since day 1, which is kinda a mandatory thing that no one really bothered about.

and all of a sudden its an important task that managers are very rived up about, coz its INTERNAL AUDIT, and i am landed with a backload of stuffs to print all the way back from day 1. its really horrible. staring at the black and white prints for hours on end, trying to decipher which page belongs to whom (its excel spreadsheets, so they are cut into little little sections per page, and its pretty much impossible to decipher which date and sheet and fund a single page is from), breathing in the poisonous fumes from the printers, getting paper cuts, and worst of all, the PAPER! the PAPER that's going to waste~! my heart bleeds everytime i press the 'Print' button and watch 15 to 50 pieces of perfectly white paper filled with potential turn into worthless pulp filled with squiggly black ink, all for the self-satisfaction of some sick auditor somewhere.

i churn out one small hillock of papers a day. all together its one big mountain EVERY BLOODY DAY. and the funny thing is, everything is in soft copy, and we print from these soft copies!!! so its a complete waste of paper~! and i doubt anyone's gonna plow through all those during the auditing coz you'll need an entire army to do it. you'll need an entire army to move it goddammit. and all of these when we can just store it in one simple CD.

the anguish~ *whines* the trees~~~!

sigh.

on a different note, i got a pet hamster. coz my cousin's hamsters gave birth, and he gave me one. its cute and its furry. the cage is pretty nice and cute, but pretty cluttered coz we keep throwing new things we thought it might like in it.

well, i'm supposed to be raving about it, but about the only thing this rodent does is sleep and laze around and scuttle into hiding whenever i try to get close so i can't really say anything except what i can observe from those fleeting seconds when i SEE it in action.

its got fur and white and grey patches and i have no bloody idea if its a he or a she.

Woot! I finally got my cards~! Yay~! and I have nothing to spend it on but that's another issue. If anyone reading this wanna go get a citibank card, let me know and i'll try to help that friendly, went-to-great-lengths-to-help, and motivated promoter get another customer.

recently, due to all the things happening with Lehman, MS, AIG etc, the hedge funds are getting their panties in a bunch and flustering around. this is resulting in a lot of activities and OT for some of my colleagues. (not me~ coz i'm underworked, but hush..)

so officially, starting this week, work starts at 11am instead of 10am. this is so the poor overworked guys can work an hour less.

of coz we can go off at our usual time, if we get to go off at all, that is.

and i get to go off becoz of the above reasons so yay for me.
