someone please lock me up

Posted by freebird at 03:58 PM on August 2, 2009.

someone puhleeez lock me up in a dark little room with my wii fit to prevent me from doing further damage to my wallet.

i'm pulverizing my net asset value.

i bought a hell lot of tops.

i went to taipei.

i bought a hell lot of tops again.

i came back to singapore. i bought a hell lot of tops and a few dresses which i would never wear in my life.

i bought a wii.

i bought a wii fit.

i bought 2 original wii games... (hahahaha)

i bought a slew of shoes.

i bought a bunch of accessories which i later gave away.

i bought a lot of tops.

i went back to buy a bunch of accessories coz i really liked those i gave away.

i bought a bunch of tops and jackets again.

which was just 5 minutes ago.

plus all the dinners and movies and dinners and lunches and movies.

if i had spent all that moneys above on ANY STOCK AT ALL i would be about $500 richer now.

so could someone puhleeez lock me up in a dinghy little room with a pc with chartnexus and investment books and a tv and wii and wii fit so i may work out, trim down my fats, and become rich, instead of growing fat and ugly and poor.

thank you.

Urgh

Posted by freebird at 11:58 PM on August 5, 2009.

I don't think its my computer that sucks, so I'm sure its the internet provider that's the root of all evil.

i'm taking an hour to download a freaking 1.18MB flash player.

due to my internet addiction, i need to stay on the net for 3 hours at least, else i would feel like ants are crawling up my back and feel really really uncomfortable. after plowing through multiple online manga, dilberts, blogs, movie review websites and the like, i finally decided to update all my statuses on facebook. and after i clicked through all my changes, removed my relationship status, added my job, updated stuff...

suddenly this message popped up saying there was an error with the flash file and thus my facebook can't display correctly.

i can't remove that extremely scandalous and wrong-sounding tag 'Tan is no longer listed as "in a relationship".

the button 'REMOVE' is just there, but i can't click on it.

so i'm trying to manually download that freaking 1.18MB flash player as recommended by the facebook error message, and its taking me forever.

Thanks a million man.

UPDATE:

woot. deleted. i wonder why hoho. alt+f4 on the adobe download manager which is still at an abominable 23.5%. :)

I was eating grapes just now. There was this weird one where there was a small grape inside the grape.

it was cool.

sleep sleep

Posted by freebird at 11:16 PM on August 14, 2009.

I'd been sleeping a couple of late nights. a many couple of late late nights.

and finally i decided to sleep early coz i just couldn't take it anymore, and i decided i wanted to live a long, happy and relatively healthy (as opposed to bed-ridden, decomposed liver, dying dying) life.

amazingly enough, after sleeping restfully at 10.30pm my complexion worsened!!!

either

1. i totally relaxed = my muscles relaxed = my pores opened = i have big pores and lotssa oils oooozing out of em large pores + pimples popping up

or

2. my eyes got brighter and i noticed all those defects.

either way it goes, its disgusting. bleah.

on a side note, had a looong wonderful sleep with looong happening dreams. can't really remember any details now, but i'm pretty sure it had lots of people trying to kill me, lots of fighting, maybe a long shiny sword, and a mythical item or two. very RPG. :)

nyu

Posted by freebird at 10:30 AM on August 15, 2009.

if i had something soft and cuddly beside me, i can lie in bed forever.

so should i dump all my pillows and soft toys in one corner to prevent lethargy, or increase the cuddleness count to increase the happiness count?

there's this human-sized weird-motif soft toy going for $20+ at gift-a-name. i have no idea what its supposed to be but its OH SO CUTE. AND BIG. AND WEIRD. AND CUDDLY.

as i just force-ejected myself from my bed, i'm gonna be talking about dreams again.

i want those dream-recording machines that some genius just recently invented. i'm gonna work hard to become a millionaire so i can afford one of those babies. was in this pretty mall with complicated stairway-structure and interesting stores, and i just spent the entire time going around oggling at the new concepts and taking photos with my trusty but shaky camera. makes me wanna be an interior designer - open concept toilets (it looks damn cool but i didn't dare to use it lol), open concept kitchens, pavillion and chandelier-designed dining areas, grapevines and lattices, stained glass structures, barbie doll costumes shop, and close-concept washrooms in the middle of two levels.

but apparently i can't be an interior designer coz i can't draw. so in about 3 hours i won't remember what i dreamt and i'll be unable to make sense of what i just sketched boo.

while we're on the note of dream-recording machines, i also want a microchip in my brain to record all my memories! how cool is that! like 'i saw this beautiful starry sky that day, i'll screenshot and transfer it from my brain to your external hard disk'

i start today

Posted by freebird at 11:51 PM on August 16, 2009.

i just watched 'Up'. i cried my eyes out. loss, family and sad old people are always tear-jerkers for me.

its sad how the monotony, and realities of life squeeze out and make you forget about your dreams, goals and aspirations, and before you know it you're old and past your prime. and before you get the chance to stop and realize your dreams, you die.

i cried and i cried and i cried. i also really admired ellie's tenacity for life, and the tenderness and care between the two oldies. i aspire to grow old like that!

argh. i'm twenty-three now, which is actually REALLY OLD. its like, its already a quarter of my way through my life, and my first quarter reporting shows no results. i haven't really lived life yet.

i want to live my life to the fullest with no regrets, plenty of fun escapades and sweet moments, and burn for a dream. a scrapbook with interesting stuff and goals i can tick off, so when i'm old and rickety and dying on my bed i can read through it and think 'oooh, i really lived and showed 'em.'

i start today.

wii-ing parents

Posted by freebird at 11:31 PM on August 18, 2009.

My parents are hooked on wii.

i'm ridiculously happy about that, after all i bought the wii with the intention of letting everybody have lots of fun.

:) i'm happy :) :)

and my dad has been skipping his naps and playing wii sports tennis whatever chance he has. since both my parents have badminton background (i swear, they can thrash you anyday) they levelled up quickly enough. and they get a real workout too, coz they can't get out of the habit of running for the ball, and they swing really hard and fast. basically everynight, the carpet would be tilted at 45 degrees angles from all the feet shuffling. and today while i was sitting at the coffee table eating my very late dinner, i can hear the swish of the controller and a sharp wind going by my ear even though he was playing a safe 1m away.

i wonder if the controller can withstand all that gravitational pressure lol. it IS made of plastic and a lot of intricate wirings.

i've to fight hard too!

unwell

Posted by freebird at 11:21 PM on August 19, 2009.

i just reached home from work... ...

i don't really feel well and i want to go to sleep... ...

urk... (>_____<)

i ate too much today.

we had this sudden spur of the moment decision last night to eat economic beehoon in the office this morning, so a kind soul went to dapao beehoon for everyone and we had breakfast together.

it was great, it was fun, and when lunchtime came no one felt like eating.

but we stuffed ourselves with lunch nonetheless, a pretty late lunch at 2pm.

and then we worked late today and ordered in SAKAE SUSHI - a huge party sushi platter (god those avocado tempura sushis and sashimi were heavenly) with individual bentoes for each person.

i am so stuffed, i am about to conk out already, and i'm feeling really really cold from my FREE taxi ride.

i love work.

school? who needs school?

finally

Posted by freebird at 02:45 AM on August 22, 2009.

i haven't washed my hair for 3 days.

that's that. three days of late nights and early days, and i have no time to wash my hair.

so today, finally, when i popped into my house at past midnight i decided that, by hook or by crook, and even if i have to sleep at 3am, i AM GOING TO WASH MY HAIR.

and so here i am lounging about online at 3am in the morning waiting for my hair to dry.

super super late nights, i might even need to return to the office over the weekends, and i confirm have to go to work at 7am come Monday. although today work ended earlier around 8+, and we went down to geylang to eat beef horfun and drink cheap beer till midnight haha.

woot working life.

but then there's the problem of when can i wash my hair with this schedule.

sigh, i need a hairdryer huh.

and i'm a super fan of komi naoshi now, read her ISLAND, PERSONANT and KOI NO KAMISAMA when you have time! she has lots of fresh ideas and good art. another interesting find is $100 is too cheap and some shoujo. and of coz there's my all time favourite mangakas boichi and yumeka sumomo!

right. sleep.

i finally get how the economy works

Posted by freebird at 12:49 PM on August 29, 2009.

yesterday i got off work relatively early, so i thought woot, i'm gonna go shopping for some nice cheap things so i can spend money and not feel so bad about it! like manga! or a mag! and then i reached the mall and realized all the shops were closed. apparently my early is pretty late by normal standards.

booo.

there's no point earning money when you can't spend them.

and then in a fit of rebellion you'll spend a whole chunk on something that doesn't really make you happy. like a stock that won't go up. or insurance. or original wii games. or expensive dresses that looked oh so good but you're never going to wear. or a trip for your parents.

and that is how the economy works. it moves when people with no time feel compelled to spend on stupid things coz 'we worked so hard, we got this reward that we can't really feel, if we don't spend it it'll be like we'll have worked for nothing! but there's no time to shop so let's just buy whatever is conveniently there and hope it brings a certain amount of utility'

money brings me a certain amount of utility too, but not when they'll all stuck in cpf and a bank, and i have no bankbook to oggle at and all my bank statements are shredded (and even when the monthly statement comes in i think 'huh, still so little?')

maybe i should just withdraw all my money and thumb through them every night like old man scrooge.

just kidding - please don't rob my house. i have no cash here.
